One of the most sustainable things you can do is use what you already have.
This week I’m talking about plastic period products.
Did you know that more than 80% of marine litter is plastics!? In fact plastic tampon applicators rank number 5 in the top 10 single use plastic polluters of our worlds oceans. Which is a pretty staggering statistic.
So what are the alternatives?
Firstly. I didn’t mention plastic free (single use) period products here because whilst they’re a great alternative and are in fact WAAAAAAY more eco friendly and better for your body than the conventional period products, they are still single use and can sometimes work out even more expensive than the usual pack of plastic disposable pads and tampons.
In this video I’ve focused solely on reusables, because, whilst a bit more expensive, they can be used time and again. Thus saving you money in the long run. They are an investment, definitely, but your vagina deserves it queen!
